Nominees for the Defence Nursing Reservist Award must currently be a registered nurse from Northern Ireland who serves within the Defence Medical Services. Please check that the person you wish to nominate is content for you to nominate them. Nominations must be made by someone who is familiar with the work of the nominee. Please note the Award is also open to previous nominees.
Nominators should provide examples that best showcase the nominee鈥檚 skills, even if their civilian job does not typically involve leadership or high-profile responsibilities. Examples can focus on clinical excellence, teamwork, and military leadership that has influenced healthcare settings.
Who can be nominated?
The Defence Nursing Reservist Award is open to registered nurses serving as a reservist in the Defence Medical Services in Northern Ireland.
How to apply?
Fill out the application form and complete a 500-word summary demonstrating evidence from either their military or civilian role, or a combination of both, in the following areas:
- delivering exemplary standards of clinical practice or education
- leadership behaviour that has had a positive impact on services
- the contribution that has been made to patient care.
- Examples of leadership, innovation, or learning from their military career that has benefitted the NHS, healthcare providers, or contributed to the Defence Medical Services.
